Plant a ‘slice’ of this native wildflower and you just might entice the elusive hummingbird to visit your garden to sip from its brilliant red blooms. Woodland Pinkroot is a much beloved native perennial but 'Apple Slices' adds a little something sweeter with its reliably dark, wine red flowers with the trademark bolt of yellow exploding from the top. While this plant is widely adaptable and shade tolerant, the more sun, the more flowers (as long as there's enough moisture). Woodland Pinkroot is uncommonly sold, and this deep red selection even less, so don’t let this opportunity to add it to your garden slip by!
