Looking for a perennial that is easy to grow, deer resistant, and a pollinator magnet? Nodding Onion is just the ticket! Nodding Onion, named for its gently nodding, pale pink flower clusters, is one of our most ornamental native onions. It blooms in summer, attracting a wide variety of native bees, but luckily its foliage and flowers have a mild onion scent, which makes it unappetizing to deer. This little beauty will self seed, but looks great intermingling with other perennials. However, if you'd prefer that it stay in its place, simply deadhead after it blooms.

Conditions: Full sun to partial shade; moist to average soil
Size: 1' - 2' tall
Zone: 4 - 8
Wildlife Value: Flowers attracts a variety of pollinators, especially bumblebees
