In late winter to early spring, before most other shrubs awaken, Ozark Witch Hazel unfolds its ribbon-like, fragrant flowers in shades of yellow to red. The spidery blooms appear on bare branches, creating a fascinating contrast against the winter landscape. In fall, before the flowers arrive, the leaves of Ozark Witch Hazel turn a vibrant yellow, adding a splash of autumn color to the garden. With an open and spreading habit, this shrub works well as a border plant, in naturalized areas, or even as a specimen plant.
