Have the British invaded your garden? You don’t need a revolution to replace English Ivy in your yard. You need Foamflower! ‘Octoraro’ is a cultivar of the native foamflower that makes a splendid ground cover, especially in shady spots. One of the trademark plants of spring, Foamflower produces dark pink buds that bloom into delicate, light pink flowers from early May to July. The foliage is semi-evergreen and develops colorful maroon and purple markings as it matures, adding a touch of intrigue among the verdant vernacular of May. We hold these truths to be self-evident: that you should always replace an invasive species with its native counterpart.

Conditions: Full to part shade; moist, well-drained soil

Size: <6” tall, 24” spread

Zone: 4 - 9

Wildlife Value: Flowers attract pollinators
