The cultivar name of this Rusty Blackhaw Viburnum selection echoes its compact and upright posture as it proudly and handsomely stands at attention. Its distinct habit makes it a prime choice as a large large specimen or border shrub, hedge component, or foundation planting. Seasonal changes in the uniform of 'Royal Guard' keep things interesting nearly year round: glossy, toothed green foliage, creamy-white flowers in mid-spring, dark blue berries on red stems and shiny, maroon to deep burgundy fall color.

Conditions: Full sun to part shade
Size: 10'-20’ tall, 10'-20’ wide
Zone: 5 - 9
Wildlife Value: Flowers attract small bees, hover flies, and pollinating beetles; fruits provide food for birds and small mammals
