Common throughout the mid-Atlantic region, Tulip Tree is a well-known species that makes an excellent choice for a shade or ornamental tree on a large property. Each spring, yellow and orange tulip-like flowers bloom high in the beautiful branches, gradually giving way to cone-shaped brown fruits that bear many winged seeds. Tulip Tree adds beautiful golden yellow color to the autumn landscape, but the 'Hope' selection brings golden hues to the spring as well through its bright emerging leaves.
This special selection from Tennessee is very uncommon in cultivation.
Conditions: Full sun but tolerates part shade; prefers moist, organically rich, well-drained soils
