Virginia Mallow is species of special concern, and in the wild it is considered endangered. It is a large perennial, growing to be 3-8' tall, but shorter on dryer sites. Maple like leaves accompany delicate orchid like flowers arriving in July and lasting through October. It naturally grows along stream bank and can adapt to a wide range of soil conditions.
