There are few things more beautiful than swaths of Virginia Bluebells in bloom in early spring. The delightful flowers start as pinkish buds and burst into clusters of arching, light blue, bell-shaped flowers. They are stunning and unmistakable, but like many lovely things, the beauty of Virginia Bluebells is fleeting. Plants go completely dormant in summer to wait patiently for the coming of spring again, when they will burst forth and ring out the good news.
