A counterpart to our mid-Atlantic Yellow Trout Lily, the more southerly Beaked Trout Lily has bright yellow flowers that are quite large for the size of the plant. While the flowers of Yellow Trout Lily are more pendulous, Beaked Trout Lily has flowers that point up and out, as if giving a sunny hello to all who walk (or fly) by. A lovely spring ephemeral for the woodland garden, Beaked Trout Lily will form polite clumps in time.
