Planted in a sunny location, Gold Standard Tall Tickseed sends up sturdy stems with willowy leaves, surrounded by clouds of sunny daisy-like blooms that wave softly in the breeze. A bit shorter than the straight species, this outstanding selection creates a delicate veil of bright yellow from July through September and does not flop over as its relatives tend to do. A selection made by Mt. Cuba Center from wild-collected seed found in Alabama, this plant rated very highly in their Coreopsis trials. The name says it all: Gold Standard Tall Tickseed has a superior overall floral display and extended bloom time, along with disease and drought resistance, setting the bar high for Coreopsis cultivars.
