You've probably never heard of her, but Ditch Stonecrop might just be the ride or die plant companion you've been looking for. Unphased by wet soils and standing water, this perennial is as versatile as it is unusual. Early in spring, the spreading rhizomes look slightly alien, moving in roving tendrils at the soil's surface before bursting skyward into a dense, compact mass of leaves. In late summer, white flowers emerge in fireworks-like arches above the leaves before transforming into deep coral hues as the fruit ripens, adding a beautiful splash of color to the fall landscape.

Conditions: Full to part shade; wet to medium soil

Size: 1.5’ tall, 1.5’ spread

Zone: 2-  9

Wildlife Value: Flowers attract small bees
