Penstemon should be on every gardener’s must-have plant list, and if you have yet to partake in this lovely genus, may I suggest Eastern Whiteflower Beardtongue? A small herbaceous perennial native to the Southeastern United States, Eastern Whiteflower Beardtongue delights with small spikes of tubular white flowers in late spring and early summer. Great planted in masses or tucked between other perennials, this Penstemon will happily abide.
