If you enjoy rooting for the underdog, then ReJoyce Coastal Doghobble is the ideal native shrub for you. Doghobble is often looked over for traditional non-native shrubs such as boxwoods and Japanese hollies, but this Coastal Doghobble selection will have you celebrating all year round with its infinite aesthetic appeal. New leaves burst forth in a blaze of wine-red over older green foliage in the spring. Delicately arching branches boast long-blooming white flower clusters throughout the summer. And Doghobble's blaze rekindles in the fall when its foliage turns a glowing amber-red that persists throughout the winter months, bringing color to the sleepy, winter garden. This plant prefers shade and moist, well-drained soil away from drying winds.

Conditions: Part shade; moist to average soil (once established)
Size: 2'-4' tall, 3' spread
Zone: 6 - 9
Wildlife Value: Provides cover for birds and small mammals; flowers attract small bees
