Nice to meet ya, Physostegia! ‘Miss Manners’ is an improved selection of Obedient Plant, but don’t be fooled by her politeness – she is just as showy, fun, and fragrant as the species! ‘Miss Manners’ was found as a naturally occurring seedling of Physostegia virginiana ‘Rosea’ and has proven to be compact, sturdy, and happy to stay in a clump instead of spreading around. It’s floriferous from summer to fall, and throws up tall, sometimes 10”, spikes of white flowers that resemble snapdragons. A powerhouse pollinator plant, great as a cut flower, and black walnut tolerant.
